Description: Groton Farm School is seeking a part-time Music teacher. The ideal candidate will use songs, simple instruments, and a range of materials and experiences to introduce children to musical concepts in both indoor and outdoor learning environments. Groton Farm School is also open to the teacher offering private music lessons during the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and lead engaging music sessions for mixed-age groups.

  • Incorporate seasonal themes and natural settings into instruction.

  • Organize and direct student performances for families throughout the year.

  • Foster a love of music in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Prior teaching experience and the ability to teach various ages at the same time.
  • Able to teach in a natural/outdoor setting, as well as in a traditional classroom.
  • Be comfortable around farm animals.

Hours: 6 Hours per Week (2 Days/Week)

Groton Farm School is seeking a dynamic and experienced STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) educator to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a passionate teacher who excels at designing and delivering hands-on, interdisciplinary lessons that inspire curiosity and foster creative problem-solving in young learners.

Working with children ages 4–10, the STEAM teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate lessons that integrate all five components of STEAM. The educator will also lead the coordination and execution of our annual school science fair.

Candidates should have a deep understanding of STEAM pedagogy and a demonstrated ability to develop project-based learning experiences that support exploration, collaboration, and innovation. The ideal candidate is creative, flexible, and excited to contribute to a collaborative, nature-based learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage critical thinking, experimentation, and cross-age collaboration.
  • Organize and lead the annual science fair.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) required.
  • Prior experience teaching STEAM subjects to early and elementary-age children.
  • Strong knowledge of STEAM pedagogy and interdisciplinary curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

Schedule
Approximately 6 hours per week, scheduled over two school-day mornings or afternoons. Specific days and hours are flexible and will be coordinated with the Head of School.
